STEP 1

STEP 2

Using your handy trim removal tool, begin in the lower right corner and start separating the door panel from the door frame. Slowly work your way around the bottom and sides, popping off each successive snap until you’re left with the door panel hanging by the top lip.

If you just lift the door panel away from the door from the bottom, but not fully remove it from the frame of the truck, you should be able to place the New Door Bowl wire harness behind the panel and down to the switch panel location. You can rest the Door Bowl Light in the handle for now. You will come back to it in a later step.

NOTE: Depending on your vehicle, that may be different for your Front Driver Wire Harness. Please take a look at your vehicle so if yours is different, you purchase the correct package. 2-Auto vs. 1-Auto Trucks. 2-Auto Trucks would be: Platinum, 1794, TRD Pro (Some Years). 1-Auto Trucks would be: Limited, SR5, SR, TRD Pro (Some Years)

STEP 3

With now having the door frame exposed, we can easily find the window switch connector – just follow the factory wire harness that goes along the frame of the door and routes up to the white connector at the top right side of the door. In the pictures below, you see it is the one that has a yellow factory label wrapped around the wire harness. Depending on your vehicle, that may be different.

Once you locate this connector, you can go ahead and connect the included plug-n-play wire harness for the Door Bowl Light.

In order to connect the wire harness for the door bowl light, there are some narrow openings that the cable and connectors will need to travel through. The only way this can be accomplished is by doing it prior to reinstalling the door panel back on the frame of the vehicle.

Look to see which hole on your door panel doesn't match up with the back of the hole cover. If you have one that will not be used by a tab, we recommend using it. If all of them are used, find one where the hole is slightly bigger and will be able to accomodate both the tab on the back of the hole cover and the wire. Connect the new Door Bowl Light and then go ahead and make sure all of the other connections on the back side of that door panel are back together prior to hanging it back on the top lip of the door frame.

One of the biggest things people forget to reconnect is the courtesy light connector at the bottom of the door panel.

STEP 4

After tidying up the wires, make sure the door panel is pushed back into place against the door frame, then reinstall the three phillip screws to anchor the panel to the frame. Once the hardware is nice and tight, go ahead and push the two panel pieces back into place to cover the holes. Last, install your new Door Bowl Light Hole Cover. You may need to push your wire harness in the backside of the door panel a little more, but it shouldn't be a problem doing so at this point. Start by inserting the back tabs that are towards the cab of the vehicle first and then the back tabs that are towards the red lock indicator on the door handle last.

Now all you need to do is test your new setup!

STEP 5

Next, move to your rear passenger door behind the driver seat. You will want to follow similiar steps as above to do the same thing to this door. Start by using the trim removal tool to reveal the screws that are hidden under the door handle carpert and the factory hole cover. Using a phillips screw driver, remove the screws and set them aside for re-installation.

Still using the trim removal tool, pop-up the trim piece for the window switch cover. Once you have this removed, you will be able to disconnect the factory white connector that we will use to directly connect our New Door Bowl Wiring Harness.

STEP 6

It is not necessary to completely remove the door panel. Start by removing the upper trim piece on the door. Slowly work your up the side, popping off each successive snap until you’re left with the trim piece coming off the frame of the truck. Next, right below that, you will see a little plastic push pin you will need to remove. Push the middle of it in to release it from its location. Then just remove it and set it aside for later.

Starting at the lower right corner, pry up to release the door panel from the frame of the truck. If your door panel has not been removed before, this can be a bit tough the first time. Don't be afraid of breaking anything. It is just held in by plastic fasteners in the back. Once you get the corner, work your way around the bottom and then the sides. After the door panel is loose, that is all you need. From here, take the New Door Bowl Light and run the new wires down the back side of the panel to the location of the Switch Panel area. You can rest the Door Bowl Light in the handle for now. You will come back to it in a later step.

STEP 7

With now having the factory wire harness exposed, we can easily find the window switch connector – just follow the factory wire harness that goes along the frame of the door and routes up to the white connector. Match it up with the New Wire Harness that is included in the package. Go ahead and connect the factory white connector to the female side of the new harness. Once it is connected, you can connect the other end to your factory switch panel. Look for the red and black wires that you already ran down the inside of the door panel from up above. You can now connect both ends. Done. Install your Switch Panel back on your Door Panel.

NOTE: Depending on your vehicle, that may be different for your Front Passenger Wire Harness.

Once you locate this connector, you can go ahead and connect the included plug-n-play wire harness for the Door Bowl Light.

STEP 8

Now that the wire harness is connected we can go ahead and reinstall the door panel and trim pieces. If you haven't already gone ahead and pressed the door panel back onto the door frame of the truck, you can do so on this step.

STEP 9

After tidying up the wires, reinstall the hardware to anchor the panel to the frame.

Once everything is good, you have completed the left side of the vehicle. Go ahead and repeat Steps 1-10 for the Passenger Side.

STEP 10
